Kelsey Slayton

Kelsey has been an assistant coach for the Detroit Catholic Central Swim Team since the 2020-2021 season. She has over 10 years of experience coaching, and was a 4 year collegiate swimmer at Clarion University of Pennsylvania where she competed primarily as a 100/200 butterflyer and a sprint freestyler. Kelsey swam for Coach Jessica at Walled Lake Northern from 2007-2011, and was team captain for both her high school and college swim teams.

Kelsey is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, graduating from the University of Michigan - Flint in August 2024. She currently works at Adams Sports Medicine in Novi and is their current Sports Resident. This residency is a year-long post-graduate program that will prepare her to sit for her board exam to become a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist in physical therapy.

Since college, Kelsey has stayed active by participating in Crossfit for the past 10 years. She also enjoys camping and hiking and enjoys finding new ways to challenge herself athletically. This summer she learned to row with Kensington Community Rowing Center and plans to return next season. In addition to coaching for DCC, Kelsey has coached with Coach Jessica at Edgewood Country Club since 2012, and spent 1 season as assistant swim coach with Jessica at WLN in 2015 and head coach of the Banks-Geisler middle school swim team for the 2015-2016 season.
